Kyotanabe city is conveniently located in the heart of Kansai, linked by JR and Kintetsu Railway, as well as major roads to Kyoto, Osaka and Nara.

From Kyoto station, Shintanabe station is 23 minutes. The Kyoto line connects Shintanabe station to Nara station in the other direction; the express takes 22 minutes.

The JR station, Kyotanabe, is just 35 minutes away from Kyobashi station, which is on the circle line (kanjo sen) running around Osaka city.

The Kyoto prefectural motorway 22 runs North-South through Kyotanabe, while the national motorway 307 connects Kyoto and Nara through the city.

Access on foot:

The city hall is about 15 minutes walk from Kyotanabe station on the JR Gakkentoshi line and 20 minutes walk Shintanabe station on the Kintetsu line.

By bus:

It is approximately a 5 minute ride on bus 66A or 66B from the bus terminal on the West side of Shintanabe station to the stop in front of the city hall (shiyakusho-mae).

By car:

From Kyoto:

Take Route 1 towards the Keiji bypass. Turn left at the Kumiyama crossroad. Turn right onto Route 24. Continue along the Keinawa Road. At the Tanabe-nishi crossroad take Route 307 East for 2 minutes; the city hall will be on your left.

From Osaka:

Take the Meishin motorway. At the Oyamazaki junction transfer onto the Keiji bypass. Transfer onto the 2nd Keihan road. At the Hirakata-higashi crossroad take Route 307 East for 10 minutes; the city hall will be on your left.

From Nara:

Take the Keinawa Road. At the Tanabe-nishi interchange take Route 307 East for 2 minutes; the city hall will be on your left.

*There is a small car park in front of the city hall. The large car park behind the city hall is also for people using the gymnasium or swimming pool.
